Last year I checked out Dawarich but couldn’t get any of the data tracking apps such as Owntracks working. I now noticed Dawarich has an official Android app. I looked over the documentation website but couldn’t find an answer about offline caching though.
Setup: I have an old tiny pc in my home network running as homelab, which is not exposed to the public. Usually when I need to access a self hosted service I am home, or I enter my network through a wireguard VPN.
Question about the Dawarich app (I noticed a few days ago the official playstore one has been depricated in favor of another one): Does it keep tracking my location, store it locally, and push it to the server once it gains back connection? (e.g. when I switch on my VPN during the day, or get home in the evening) Or do I need connection at all times in order for the tracking to work?
Is the Android app also open source? I could not find a Github repository.
Thanks!
