Thought I’d throw what (might be) an easy to implement feature - automatically overwriting a range of time when importing data.
Basically I use OwnTracks to track my location all day - and my phone’s GPS is fine but not great. When I’m out for a walk/run/bike, my Garmin watch will automatically track the activities with much higher accuracy (and frequency).
I’ve got a system to automatically export my working GPX files and when I pull them into Dawarich, I’d like to ditch my Android coordinates in favor of the better GPX file coordinates.
I looked through the documentation and I don’t think this is currently possible but I’d love to be wrong about that.
If I’m getting this right, you have 2 sources: OwnTracks and GPX file from Garmin, both are with you, is that right? Same location as you, moving with same speed. If that’s the case, uploading GPX later on will only enrich your data and provide more detailed route, so you’re probably good to use both sources in Dawarich.
Or is your OwnTracks provides really scattered points that are spoiling the picture?
The latter for sure! I’ve done my best to tune OwnTracks to only upload “high accuracy” points but sometimes they’re just garbage data - being a handful of kilometers away from where I really was.
