I just installed Dawarich via docker self hosting. I was able to connect on my android phone using the official app. I also installed the official app on another android device which connects to the self hosting via Tailscale. I connected this using the API within the account, not the one I made on the self hosting. Not sure if this is related, but I seem to not be able to see updated locations.
- On my mobile app, I see it logged my travels I did today. I see the map screen says “Synced at 9:00 AM”, but when I open the URL to my self hosted instance, it does not show the new location histories. I have Tracking on and in Settings, the Upload option for automatically uploading points is turned on. Batch size is at default 100. (does the batch size mean it won’t upload until there are 100 points or just uploading 100 at a time if there are more?)
- On desktop, when I go to the self hosted instance and go to Family tab, click on the other member, the location is not real time. It says “about 15 hours ago” and “Sharing always”. I am not sure A. why it’s not showing real time GPS location and B. how to see family real time location in android app.
I looked up some other posts on here and it seems I have to manually open the app for it to do anything? Is that correct? I want this to be more of a one time thing and it keeps tracking indefinitely with no user interaction.
Would greatly appreciate some help with this, I’m liking the premise of Dawarich so far.
